SBI PO - Preparation tips ~ State Bank Of India Exam


Aspirants who wish to have SBI PO post, be ready. It's time to preparation. 
I hope every one has finished their application part and planning for preparation.

I would like to share some tips for SBI PO 2013 preparation. Know SBI 2013 Question paper pattern

Written Examination (250 marks) consisting of Objective Tests and Descriptive Test.

  1. Objective Tests (200 marks):                                                                                                                    The Objective Tests with 2 hour duration will consists of 4 Sections with 50 marks each as follows:


  • Test of English Language (Grammar, Vocabulary, Comprehension etc)
  • Test of General Awareness, Marketing and Computers
  • Test of Data Analysis and Interpretation
  • Test of Reasoning (High Level)


Candidates must qualify each individual section of the paper.
Have a look into each section.

Test of English Language (Grammar, Vocabulary, Comprehension etc)

1. Start with basic grammar section. Practice more to get good marks (Refer: Objective General English Book)
2. Spend more time on vocabulary practice. Learn more words and concentrate on sentence preperation
3. Be thorough with previous passages, it would help in comprehension test
4. Practice Precis, Essay, Letter writing.

Test of General Awareness, Marketing and Computers

1. Concentrate on Banking and finance sector question to get good score in General awareness.
2. Have a deep look at Indian Economy and Banking recent NEWS
3. Read more about static GK.
4. Be thorough in computer basics and MS-Excel.

Test of Data Analysis and Interpretation

1. Practicing Data Analysis and Interpretation in SBI PO exam gives best result
2. Refer Arithmetic by RS Aggarwal for better marks
3. Practice more with easy steps helps you to get good score in DI/DA section.

Test of Reasoning (High Level)

1. Learn shortcut techniques for Reasoning (Seating arrangement, data sufficiency and math operations)
2. Decrease the time rate to solve answers, It will come with practice only.

Conclusion: SBI PO preparation Tips
  1. Don't waste the time with improper preparation. Schedule the time table and do follow it.
  2. Don't go with all question (can't find time). Practice 5 - 10 questions for each model.
  3. Start practice with hard section first.
  4. In Exam don't waste your time in General Awareness, English section if you don't know answer move to next.
  5. Start exam with know and well prepared section, It will give more confidence in examination.
